On November 14, 2014, the inauguration function of newly formed IEEE Student Branch of Kalyani Government Engineering College was held at the Kalyani Government Engineering College, Kalyani, West Bengal, India. The event was organized by IEEE Student Branch of KGEC. The chapter held a short forum to celebrate the formation, with Prof. Debatosh Guha, Chair IEEE Kolkata section and Dr. Soumya Pandit, Chair EDS Calcutta Chapter giving an introduction to IEEE activities and importance IEEE memberships. The inaugural meeting was followed by a one-day seminar on “Nano Electronics and Wireless Communication”. A total of one-hundred under-graduate and post-graduate student participants attended this event and heard lectures by Prof. Debatosh Guha, Dr. Amitava Mukherjee, Sr. Manager, IBM India Pvt. Ltd., and Mr. Atanu Kundu, Vice-Chair EDS Calcutta chapter from the concepts to the history and recent developments and trends in Wireless Communication and Nanoelectronics.
