In compliance with Office Order No. 3187-ICA(N) of the Information & Cultural Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal dated 23 June 2026, and Order No. 511(9)-T of the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of West Bengal dated 3 July 2026, Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) observed the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee on 6 July 2026. The programme was organized by the NSS Unit of KGEC in the Seminar Hall of the Academic-cum-Administrative Building.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the Principal, faculty members, non-teaching staff and students of the college, reflecting the institution's commitment to commemorating the life and contributions of eminent national leaders.
A special highlight of the programme was the invited lecture delivered by Mr. Debabrata Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, Kalyani Government Engineering College, who served as the Resource Person for the event. This marked his first official engagement as a Resource Person within his own institution, making the occasion particularly significant.
Mr. Chowdhury delivered an insightful and thought-provoking lecture on the life, vision, and enduring contributions of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
The audience, comprising distinguished faculty members, staff, and students appreciated the well-structured presentation and the balanced historical perspective offered by the speaker.
