Multiple achievements from KGEC faculties:

The following accomplishments highlights the KGEC faculty members’ excellence in research, innovation, publications, and academic mentorship across engineering, healthcare, and artificial intelligence.

1. Dr. Mainak Mukherjee, Principal of Techno India Polytechnic, Durgapur, successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on 9 April 2026 and completed all formal requirements for the award of a Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). He was jointly supervised by Dr. Manash Chanda of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology and Prof. Angsuman Sarkar.
2. Dr. Aritra Acharyya and Prof. Angsuman Sarkar from the ECE Department published their research paper, “Vector Bend-Sensor Based on Flexible Optical Waveguide with Dual-Antisymmetric-Cores,” in the IEEE Sensors Journal (Impact Factor: 4.5, Q1 ranking). The work was fabricated and tested in the IoT & Sensors Laboratory of the ECE Department.
3. Mr. Samarendra Acharya successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on 13 April 2026 at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), Haringhata campus, in the presence of external examiner Prof. Dr. Partha Pratim Bandyopadhyay from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He completed his research under the supervision of Prof. Santanu Das.
4. Dr. Sandip Nandi and Dr. Aritra Acharyya of the ECE Department published a book chapter titled “IoT-Enabled Real-Time Monitoring of IVF Embryo Culture Conditions: Integration of Machine Learning Techniques” in the Springer book AI in Smart and Secure Healthcare Research Trends and Future Opportunities.
5. Dr. Satyen Mandal announced that his third Ph.D. student from Assam successfully defended his viva voce on the thesis “Biometric Image-Based Identification of Individual Cattle Using Artificial Intelligence.” The research was completed at West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata, under the guidance of Prof. Nilotpal Ghosh (Chairman) and Dr. Mandal (Co-Chairman).
