The National Service Scheme (NSS) Orientation Programme at Kalyani Government Engineering College was conducted successfully on 19th and 20th January 2026 in the presence of the Principal and NSS Programme Officers. The programme aimed to introduce first-year students to the objectives, values and structure of NSS, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The event commenced with a welcome address and felicitation of dignitaries, followed by informative sessions highlighting the NSS motto “Not Me, But You”, its history, organizational framework, and its role in promoting leadership, discipline and social responsibility. Students were also introduced to the MyBharat Portal for structured volunteering and service tracking.
On both days, students from various departments actively participated in the orientation sessions, which emphasized community engagement, teamwork and ethical responsibility. The programme also included a recruitment and interview process conducted by senior NSS volunteers to select dedicated candidates.
The two-day programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and concluded successfully, effectively fostering awareness, motivation and a service-oriented mindset among newly inducted NSS volunteers. The sessions were efficiently anchored by Sristy Singh ensuring smooth coordination throughout.
