We are delighted to share the successful completion of the NSS Orientation and Recruitment Programme 2026 of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Kalyani Government Engineering College held on 19th & 20th January 2026.

Over the course of two impactful days, first-year students from multiple departments enthusiastically participated in the orientation sessions designed to introduce them to the vision, values and responsibilities of the National Service Scheme.

The programme began in the esteemed presence of the respected Principal and NSS Programme Officers of KGEC, setting an inspiring tone for the event. Students were introduced to the spirit of NSS its guiding motto — “Not Me, But You” — and its crucial role in nurturing leadership, discipline, civic responsibility, teamwork and a strong sense of social commitment.

A special focus was also given to the MyBharat Portal, highlighting its importance in structured volunteering and digital documentation of service activities.

Following the orientation sessions, the recruitment and interview process was conducted systematically by senior NSS volunteers where enthusiastic first-year students interacted with the team and expressed their eagerness to contribute towards community service and nation-building.

The programme witnessed active participation from students of IT, Mechanical, ECE, EE and CSE departments, along with other branches, making the event a truly inclusive and inspiring initiative.

The sessions on both days were efficiently anchored by Sristy Singh ensuring seamless coordination, discipline, and clarity throughout the programme.

This two-day event successfully achieved its objective of instilling a service-oriented mindset, social awareness and the spirit of volunteerism among newly inducted students.
