Report on Awareness Rally for Blood Donation

National Voluntary Blood Donation Day – 1st October 2026

Date:1st October 2026

Location:  Meghnad Saha Bhawan(MSB), KGEC

The NSS Unit of Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC)  organized an Awareness Rally for Blood Donation on 1st October 2026 on the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. The primary objective of the rally was to spread awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and to encourage students and members of the community to participate in the upcoming Blood Donation Camp.

The rally began at 1:30 PM at Bibhutibhushan Park, with the active participation of NSS volunteers. All volunteers were instructed to carry a placard containing a meaningful message, slogan, drawing, or awareness content related to blood donation. The placards were prepared both by hand and through printed posters, allowing the volunteers to express their creativity while conveying an important social message.

BIBHUTIBHUSHAN PARK served as an important gathering point for the awareness activity. The presence of the volunteers and their colourful placards helped attract the attention of people in the surrounding area. The activity provided an opportunity to communicate the importance of voluntary blood donation beyond the college campus and spread the message among the wider community.

During the rally, the NSS volunteers displayed their placards and spread awareness about the significance of donating blood voluntarily. Various slogans and messages emphasized that a small contribution from a healthy individual can become a valuable support for someone in need. The volunteers encouraged people to understand that blood cannot be manufactured artificially and that voluntary donors play an essential role in maintaining an adequate blood supply for patients requiring transfusions.

The rally also focused on creating awareness about the upcoming Blood Donation Camp organized through the NSS initiative. Volunteers encouraged students to learn about blood donation, clear common misconceptions, and come forward to donate blood voluntarily if they were eligible and medically fit to do so. The activity reflected the NSS motto of “Not Me But You” by promoting a spirit of service, responsibility, and concern for others.

The use of colourful and creative placards made the awareness campaign more engaging and effective. The participation of NSS volunteers demonstrated their enthusiasm towards social service and their willingness to contribute to a meaningful cause. The rally provided an opportunity for students to take an active role in spreading an important public-health message within the college community.

The programme concluded successfully at 2:30 PM. The awareness rally was a meaningful initiative that highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged everyone to contribute towards saving lives. Through this activity, the NSS Unit of KGEC reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility and community service.

“Donate Blood, Save Lives.”

The event served as a reminder that one voluntary act of blood donation can make a significant difference in another person's life.
