Report on Major Events Organized at KGEC During the Last Week of September 2026

During the last week of September 2026, Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) organized three significant academic and student-development initiatives focusing on career opportunities, creativity, and emerging technologies.

On 24 September 2026, the Training and Placement Cell organized an Awareness Session on the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) at the Seminar Hall, North Block, Administrative Building. Prof. Mrinal Kanti Kumar (TPO) guided students on opportunities, eligibility, the application process and effective utilization of PMIS.

On the same day, the Department of Computer Applications officially launched its annual departmental magazine, INTERFACE – 2026, providing a platform for students and faculty to showcase their creative and intellectual contributions. The department invited all members of the KGEC family to read the magazine and share their valuable feedback, suggestions and responses. The initiative is expected to encourage students and teachers to pursue further creative and scholarly activities. On 26–27 September 2026, Online Hackathon, SYNAPSE 1.0: Synergy of Intelligent Systems, organized by IEEE SMC Society SB Chapter and IEEE KGEC ED SB Chapter  was conducted under the theme “Echo Influence — Engineering the Cooperative Synergy.” The event involved 50 teams of 2–4 UG/PG engineering students, addressing challenges in AI, Robotics, Cybersecurity, Computer Vision, and Intelligent Systems. The hackathon recorded 132 guest attendees, including 36 IEEE members, and provided participants with valuable opportunities for innovation, teamwork, interdisciplinary collaboration and industry interaction.
