Swachhata Hi Seva: Cleanliness Drives at KGEC

Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) observed the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative through cleanliness drives organized by the Departments of Information Technology and Computer Application.

On 19 September 2026, the Department of Information Technology, in collaboration with the NSS Unit, organized a campus cleanliness drive under the leadership of Dr. Partha Sarathi Banerjee, Head of the Department. Student volunteers collected non-biodegradable waste from campus grounds and green areas while displaying posters and placards to promote cleanliness, waste segregation and environmental responsibility.

Subsequently, on 6 October 2026, the Department of Computer Application conducted a delayed observance of Swachhata Hi Seva Divas, during which second-year MCA students participated in cleaning the departmental classrooms and laboratory.

These initiatives reinforced KGEC’s commitment to a clean, healthy and sustainable campus by encouraging students to adopt responsible civic habits and actively contribute to environmental cleanliness.
